Thread: Dreamcast games I missed.

  1. EGG is not one of the best games on the DC. It had ALOT of potential. Beautiful artwork, solid gameplay, great music. But the quest was a crawl and it got kinda tedius. I'd love to see a sequel, it had alot going for it, and I would reccomend the purchase, but it ultimately balances out to no more than "decent"

    Mr. Driller - great puzzle game, must have.

    Power Stone 2 - even better than the original, and much better than similar games like Super Smash Bros. Melee. Fun in 2-player and 3/4-player modes. Don't listen to the haters, this game is awesome fun. I lost so many late night hours to it's great gameplay...

    Cannon Spike - solid game, but not nearly as much of a must-have as the above two classics.

  5. I say pick them all up. The good ones are worth hunting down and the not-so-good ones will be so damn cheap you should be able to find something redeeming about them.

  6. I really like Illbleed. It's quite entertaining, and fun even though the controls are a bit wonky.
    And what Haoh said about Blue Stinger is right... get the import version and you'll enjoy it... they busted the US version.

    I didn't find the game long enough to become tedious - I was through it in about 16 hours or so. My impressions of it may have been a bit skewed since I came across it more than a year after the DC's demise and figured that I'd played everything worthwhile, so it was a very pleasant suprise.

    Also, I guess whether it's "one of the best games on the system" depends exactly how far you're willing to extend that definition. But I'd put E.G.G. in the top 25.

    I've heard nothing but bad things, I remember one of the reviewers interviewed the game's designer and quoted him in the review. When asked about the game's quality, the designer simply lowered his head in shame.

    Illbleed: Didn't play, look for other opinions.

    Blue Stinger: Medicore even when it was new.

    Mr. Driller: Fun, for awhile.

    Power Stone 2: More of a party game this time around. Quite good if your a fan of the series, but lack of individual endings and tons of crappy unlockables kill the singleplayer.

    E.G.G.: Didn't play.

    Record of Lodoss War: Decent console Diablo clone but pays very little homage to the series it bears the name of.

    Cannon Spike: Ok game, worth it if you find it for cheap. Controls hurt it at first until you get used to them.

    Fur Fighters: *barf*
