Thread: Dance Dance Revolution questions

  1. Yeah. I got this cheap as hell printer port PSX controller adapter and NT Pad drivers, works perfectly. 497 DDR songs ranging from 1st Mix to Club to Extreme? Yum.

  2. + It looks better than the real game
+ If you're bored you can make your own whacky stuff
    + I'm in it. HOAHOAHOAHOAHAAHO
    + It's free
+ Theres a good community for it
+ You can play all the songs you want even before a machine has landed in the US most of the time

It just makes more sense that way. Ever since the DWI community started up there hasn't been a reason to own a home DDR game outside of collecting sake.

Well my only problem is that I dont really want ddr for alone use, but rather for playing with friends when i have a party and stuff, and I think that would pose a big problem on a computer (two pads at once, if you can even have two PLAYERS at once, no?)

Maybe I will get it for xbox and then get an xbox --> usb converter and play some!

BTW whats the beatmania controller like?

Its most likely going to be better on PS2. DDR Ultramix (for the xbox) is 100% KOA made, and since its taking a risk being on a pretty low selling system (or at least the knowledge of its fanbase being low) Konami isnt going to shell out the money to pay for songs like they will for DDRMAX2 on the Ps2. At least with DDRMAX2 you can almost be assured the KO's that made DDRMAX2: 7th Mix a worthwhile mix will be in it, along with maybe an occasional 100% good original or licensed song. The fact they are adding some completely useless features of the Xbox version (pay for song downloads, 4 player LIVE play, ect.) doesnt really give it much of an advantage.

And the beatmania controller like sl1p said, is like a beatmania controller.

I'd just pick up a cheap Mad Catz pad for now, and see how she likes it, and then you can always jump into modding it or into a better pad. I have one and it's just fine.

  8. Why the FUCK would anyone want to play DDR online? It's not a directly competetive game, it's really each player challenging themselves. Online rankings would be awesome, but I don't see the point of simultaneous online play.

Now everyone realizes why I hate DDR players. Morons, all of them.

  10. Oh boy. The Beatmania controller is a controller used for one of Konami's other music "Bemani" series games called Beatmania. It's sort of like DDR but it involved bards scrolling down the screen> each bar represents either one of 5 or 7 (depending on the version) keys or the turn table. It's sort of like a DJing version of DDR.
I thought you were gay.... i guess not.
