Thread: Bangaioh vs Bangai-O... the facts!

  1. Just to be annoying, the Import DC one also has the KKK-ish person, with the candelera thing except it has "DC" instead of "64", and Riki is still naked, they added the meat/clothing for the US release. Just thought I'd point that out ^_^

    It is nice to be able to powerup the weapons. I stopped at level 25 of the DC game just because I couldn't be bothered to shoot the boss with my weak-ass shots long enough to kill it.

  3. Well, for a lot of bosses, it's simply countering their spread shots with your own, destroys lifebars like mad. Rarely did I ever do the majority of my damage to a boss through my normal gun.

  4. True. However, I believe the boss in question pummeled me into submission whenever I tried that familiar tactic.

    Maybe I just suck.

  5. BenT - your stuck at Black Riki right? If you are, the only thing I can suggest is to keep your fire of to counter his, then when he does a massive spread, counter with your own when the missles get near you and repeat, he should be dead in 2-3 turns. Hope this helps.

    The last guy ( or last Gai? Har har) killed me three times last night... Are his missiled pretty much one shot you're dead, or what? I know I can do it, I just kept messing up. Then I didn't feel like playing through the level anymore.

    Has that happened to you? You play through the level slowly, killing every enemy, until you get to the boss and he kills you. Then you just tear through the level with HUGE explosions just so you can rip that bastard boss a new one. Can't wait to get home so I can beat this bad boy.

    You mean there's some other way to play Bangaio besides that way?

    Levels are made up of repetitive and generic tiles, unlike the sweet looking levels in the DC version. Backgrounds are blurrier and less detailed.
    I always considered this a beauty of Treasure's games on N64 (excluding S and P) to get around the limiting factor of the cart format. Let's see, make a short but very pretty game...or use tiled backgrounds and some inventive gameplay to make a lengthy game, light on amazing graphics but big on gameplay. I wish more companies would have done this instead of countless 3D games with the textures drained of color. *-neo

Yeah, with Black Riki, it gets damn crazy when you've got enough missiles countering back and forth, I've gotten the framerate so low you can watch the refresh line slowly travel across the screen! That gave me a little shooter high... Just don't counter right next to him, or you'll die instantly, and make sure you have enough Supers to counter multiple times (best to start the battle at 5 maximum).

    Gai's just plain tough, he's a bastard. But nothing shall stop the Explosive Invincible Bangaioh!
