Thread: F-Zero GX-AX

  1. Eh the box art is fine, I actually like it more than the Japanese one with the white on it. As for the game its awesome. The music is techno/rock but I like it. Control is much more comfy with the GC controller and I found no problems with drifting yet.

It has alot of modes like the character bio one with their little theme song playing.

I was disappointed to not hear the Big Blue song but Mute City has it so its alright. It feels more like F-Zero X on steroids which is fine with me and I like that each track has different. Would be cool to have the music remixed with every visit though like 3rd Strike's.

    Anyway I'm enjoying it alot

  2. What the hell are you doing rating the box art Chibi? You should be playing the dern thing :P

Good game so far. The story mode is giving me a good beating. I'm only on stage three, the course is a nice surprise for anybody who played the SNES version. All I can say is: Novice my ass. Cripes, I'm afraid to take on hard and very hard modes.

  3. Ok, got a look at the game. That last track on the Ruby cup is freakin' awesome. And I agree: Novice my ass.

I love the mix of generally mind-blowing graphics and so-bad-even-RARE-couldn't-have-dreamed-them-up character designs/character modles. Here's a hint guys: Just because you can animate a guy bobbing around, doesn't mean you have to. People do stand still you know.

Fantastic speed, fantastic controll (with Blue Falcon anyway, can't dial the others in yet), and a few really stand out tracks so far. This could be a good one if the difficulty doesn't get too cheap...

  4. I hate that the boost system is the same as X. It just seems like a race to see if you can go the whole last 2 laps with no shields.
Korly-"Everyone here is an asshole, SURPRISE!"

  5. What I've noticed so far:

    1. The tracks with a lot of jumps are awesome but brutal.
    2. Story mode is kicking my ass. It gets real hard real quick.
    3. This game rocks.

  6. Is it a game or a rocking horse?

Back and forth, back and forth, back....

Aside from flipping between 1st and 15th place every five seconds it's a well-made title. I'm still amazed they maintained the speed of X with backdrops this detailed.

And the actuall story in story mode should be burried under 50 ft of cement. God, those are some cheesy cut scenes. Again, Rare is jealous that they can't make characters that unappealing.

But yes, the quests in story mode are a lot of fun.

  8. I don't understand why I'm sitting here at work and not at home playing F-Zero.

I'll agree the story mode is difficult, I only played mission 3 twice, but it pretty much wasted me both times.

  9. misson 4 is worse. or is it 5? it's the one where you have to destroy the leader and still come in first..

the game rocks. i have a problem, though.. i tend to have trouble on any pipe/tunnel level, as i'm not sure about the best way to take the turns. for example, in the tunnel levels, is it best to hug the inside or outside of the turn? i often find myself being whipped all around the perimeter as everyone passes by..

  10. Generally if you follow the pack, they'll be sticking to the fastest lines.

Also keep an eye on the boostpads, they are setup so that if you hit each one of them you'll be avoiding the insides of the tubes/getting all thrown around.
