And yea, if that's the story, the story will be as equally stupid as the old looking Metal Gear, so it'll be a good fit!

Don't worry though, that's not happening. Sorry for the double post.

My thoughts exactly! I knew it was a fake the moment I downloaded the sound clip. The English voiceovers are not recorded until the Japanese ones are completed (which was the case with MGS1&2).

It's also weird that they're bringing back Fox, considering his Japanese voice actor, Kaneto Shiozawa (who also voiced Randam Hajile in Snatcher and the badass Mr. Goddard in Policenauts) passed long ago.

    MGS sucks! :P

Well, maybe not, but it's no Thief. The perspective doesn't lend well to stealth, no matter what the proponents think ;p
Both games have stealth elements, but to compare the two isn't really fair. They play completely different. If you're going to play the "stealth game" card, it seems like every other game and it's mother today has stealth elements, and we all know most of them are too dissimilar to compare.

I am on a tear in this thread heh

  4. "They play completely different."

Yeah, one plays well and the other doesn't ;p

    just kidding.

  5. Hoho. Glad you added that just kidding at the end, I was getting ready to bring out the big guns heh.

To each their own I say

Not at all...it's too non-organic. Both of the Metal Gears in the Solid arc were nearly beastly, especially Ray. The metal gears whirred and whined, and the hydrolics expelled gasses to give the impression that it was actually roaring and breathing. It would swing it's "head" side to side as though it were trying to catch a glimpse of the player with one huge eyeball, and then the other. It would lift it's face to the sky like it was trying to pick up on the scent of Raiden and Snake...this new Metal Gear looks like a freaking tank. Whoopity-doo! A tank. A drab, dull, personallity defecient tank.

As has been said many times before, an advanced looking Metal Gear just wouldn't make sense in this timeline. You really expect the first version of Metal Gear to look as sophisticated as later ones?
Well that's like, your opinion, man.

  8. All of Konami's E3 material talked about the 1960's, the Cuban Missle Crisis, the Cold War, and other 'old' elements. It also hints at going 'back to the beginning' - so a story like this would completely contradict everything Konami itself has said thus far.

well, it's obviously not an official render.) i'm sure it'll look a lot more stylish with all the slick mgs animation and graphics filters.
