I don't care as long as it blows everything to hell and back.
In Zanac Neo, Knife Edge weapon 6 is good if you plan ahead a little. The grenades take a bit of time to reach their marks. Nothing beats KEW7, which is a wave shot that may be weak in power- but your main guns can be trained on stronger enemies to make up for that.
When it comes to Raiden, the laser and homers are the shit. Pound the boss with your laser (and perhaps a bomb or two) while letting the homers take out support enemies.
In Data East's Wolf Fang, I despise the "G" weapon (Grenade Gun) and will stick to either V (Vulcan) or L (Laser Rifle).

What does it matter what order you kill stuff in so long as it's still dead?
Definitely, it does in Dodonpachi if you're going for combos. That's the case to some extent in ESP RaDe as well- target a tank with the ESP power before you destroy it, then take out some minions while the multiplier is active. Same for Battle Bakraid in a way- there, you kill groups of large enemies to kick up your multiplier (sometimes, I'll use a bomb to QUICKLY get a 64X multiplier there- which also triggers 100,000 point medals to appear in lieu of the 10,000 ones.).
