Thread: guys and jeans

  1. that may be an accurate description of Americans in general but for most of us who live in certain climates... those clothes at times (baggy and loose fitting) are the only things we can wear - I live in Houston with a daily heat index of near 100 degrees F in the summer, and its unpleasant to wear regular fitting clothing most days. I dunno - I agree with alot of what you said though.

  2. This thread is... weird. It might attract more female gamers to this board, though.

Anyway, rama, I think you're being too picky. I'm about James' size, and I can tell you that it's much easier to find 30-30 jeans/pants than 30-34 or 31-34. Last winter I had to special order my pants through Eddie Bauer because Dockers discontinued my size. America really has an obesity problem. It sucks that I'm suffering because everyone else is fat.

  3. being picky makes me happy. once i do find that pair of jeans that fits me just right, i'll cherish'em for the rest of my life.

There is one in Georgetown at the Georgetown Mall.

I would suggest stopping by French Connection. Their style and cut is european which might fit you well, but they are a bit pricey.

Obviously it's just a generality and a great many people are different from the stereotype... But I think Icepop was talking about Montréal in the middle of the winter when it's 20° below and you see people downtown in the most ridiculous outfits... and... no coat on! It's hilarious and you really can pick out the American tourists almost instantly. They also talk really loud and say obnoxious things.

It gets plenty hot here in the summer (80s and 90s F with a lot of humidity) and people still manage to dress pretty stylishly - and the girls tend to wear hardly anything at all, which is wonderful!.

Another thing she mentioned which is very true is the size difference in clothes. On average I would say that all clothes here are at least 25% smaller than they are in the States. Shopping is a totally different experience because of that... but on the whole I like it better simply because of the variety.

You can always tell when there are Americans in town here because they dress so differently ... they are all in baggy faded blue jeans, backwards caps, sweatshirts, vests, and always somehow neglect to bring a coat in the dead of winter. They all look like drunk jocks.
You obviously haven't seen me dress ^^

In CA, you can get away with looking fashionable. Heck, it's practically encouraged. Too bad I don't have the money for such clothes. Or maybe it's for the better.

Well, I wasn't really taking a knock at all Americans or anything like that at. I was just poking fun at the American tourists who come here by the busload. Really, in the winter it can get pretty damn cold here ... what with all the stupid igloo, etc. jokes that Americans make you'd think they'd remember that in January Canada = cold and think to pack a coat.

There certainly is a difference in the way people dress and carry themselves in Canada vs. the US or even North America vs. Europe though. Just an observation.

You ever try on a pair of Diesel's? I'm too big to wear them, but you should try on a pair. They seem to be skinny guy jeans.

I go baggy, myself. I lean towards Lucky's, Nautica's, and some Guess. When I just want to lounge, I'll throw on an old pair of Structure jeans. Everything else is too damn tight. You just can't wear tight jeans. That shit should be outlawed unless you're a female.

  9. Go with Diesel or Silver jeans. I have pairs of them, they tend to be more accustomed to sleder figures. However, Diesel, Parasuco, etc. are quite pricey!
I guess you've learned the benifit to waiting.
I agree, they should give people like you something. Perhaps a kick in the balls would do nicely and make you slightly less retarded.

dude, you got any thrift stores in your area? you can buy some really great clothes from thrift stores. i have a handful in this area. sometimes you can't find too many things that'd fit your style, but if you look hard enough you might come up with something. heh, most people that don't know me also think i have allot of money because of the way i dress. i usually buy my clothes on sale or at a thrift store. the best pair of jeans i've ever owned came from a thrift store...that was back in high school though.
