Take out the words "entertaining" and "romp", and you've nailed it. I love stupid-ass kung fu movies, I can laugh at stuff like Zoolander...heck, I even paid full price to watch 2 Fast 2 Furious just for the cars and to see what the deal with that weird-looking asian chick was. It's not just the completely retarded plots (Armageddon is the stupidest movie I've ever seen, and I've watched Clones of Bruce Lee 5 times), but the manipulative jingoism they throw in.

As for Bruckheimer/Bay...people fall into two camps with them. You can either turn your brain off and enjoy the good looking actors and explosions, or you can't and it makes you angry these incredibly stupid people who expect you to believe NASA would land illiterate oil drillers on an asteroid with a nuke are rich and you're not.
I mean, if their movies were stupid in a funny way, I'd be all over them. But they're not, it's just like they don't even bother to proofread their scripts to see if they make sense.
As for it mattering whether I like them or not, I don't expect it to - I wasn't actually trying to put you down or anything. Like I said, I watch shitty movies all the time, just not this one. I'm telling you, Bruckheimer is like the Burger King of hollywood directors.
