I have this problem now and then, too.
And no, Ad-Aware does not help.
Situation is like this...Some of my bookmarks, while valid become a 404 and launch me straight into a search engine (a shitty one, at that) and sometimes a porn site will surface when I switch sites. I even block the sit on my Alexa toolbar and the damn thing still shows up!
Any of you teckie folks can help me so I have peace of mind?
Thank you.

What about those pop-ups that come in Window Message screens instead of IE. Anyone have any suggestions for those pop-ups?

Seven, that sounds like it could be hijackware. You could've gotten Xupiter, LOP.com, or something like that. Sites affiliated with these companies will upload that crap to your computer when you visit a page.
Spybot Search & Destroy could probably help there. This is available at http://security.kolla.de/ and I've heard it gets rid of some stuff Ad-aware misses.

How about being more careful with your choice of porn sites![]()

Towards the bottom. I'm not sure if it helped Napolm, but hey, maybe it can help someone else. And yeah, Spybot will find it.
