Thought I checked that well enough but apparently not. Thanks.

UPDATE: I got close to beating it using the Grace Note (a Wave Beam that kills many smallers enemies at once) and Arrow Head (relective lasers).Originally Posted by Icepick
UPDATE2: FINALLY beat it. I'm glad that unlimited continues kicked in. I wasn't expecting that. But I beat it with the Hot Conductor, since it's kinda an upgrade of the Grace Note.
Yeah, I've reached the final boss several times but my patience ran out before I could finish the stage up.

The last level is damn weird. Some parts of this game have a similar vibe to Rez, at least for me.
I understand there are three versions of the final stage, and three endings. Anyone know the requirements?
Oh yeah - if you use a ship in AI vs. mode, does it count towards flight time as well?
Damn I'm loving this game...have 17 ships unlocked so far...so there are only 5 levels? Well then I guess I just need to beat the end boss who keeps killing me to beat it...
The graphics and atmosphere remind me of Einhander -- anyone else think this? Even one of the ships looks like the ship in Ein...
Gets a solid 8/10 in my book...but damn I agree how dark this game is -- have to play it in the dark to see it...
"50,000! You scored 50,000 points on Double Dragon?"
Nope, there are 7 levels. I posted some tips on the 5th level boss, it may help, but I'm not promising anything.

The fifth stage boss just sucks ass. The distortion on the level didn't bother me until I reached him, THEN it bothered me. Half of his patterns are a complete joke, but then he has a few that seem almost undodgeable, and his attacks seem to be random. If you get lucky, you shove a force in his face, he does piddly attacks for awhile, then just croaks. If not, you just croak :P
Fourth stage boss cinema playing every time you fight him is annoying, but I guess not as annoying as redoing that last little bit on the fifth stage.
Good fun though. I liked Delta more than any previous RType, and now I like this one even more. Challenging without being hair pulling (minus that lame fifth boss).

Yea, seriously, fuck stage 5 right up the ass.
The distortion sucks, and it makes the graphics look REALLY shitty.
