well, it helped a lot the first few times (amazing first impression), but even without it, i stand by that.

  2. But everyone's forgetting the most important question: "So what's gonna become of Clockwork Knight RPG and the new Trigun game?".

These two better not be affected by all this.

Nothing is going to happen to Trigun for sure. Sega most likely payed for the license already. So even if smilebit bows out, red will probably have to finish it themselves.

I didn't know that they were making a clockwork knight RPG.

  4. The Clockwork Knight RPG was reported by Magic Box a while back. I think they said Overworks were developing it.

I don't think these rumours will have significant impact on games currently in development. In fact, they may even be in development with the restructuring in mind. It's all just speculation though.

    News: Sega restructuring details
    July 23, 2003 8:59 PM PST | Sega / SM

In the good news column for today, Sega is reporting that first quarter shipments exceeded expectations by 230,000 units. This was based on expectations of 1.45 million units sold. Also, there will be reorganization of Sega corporate structure, the specifics of which can be found here.

To clarify, it looks they're reorganizing 9 existing subsidiaries into 5 and adding 2 new ones. The changes include:

    - Sonic Team and United game Artists will be combined to develop games for the "Right User."
    - Hitmaker and SegaRosso will develop a new sort of game.
    - Wow Entertainment and Overworks will develop next generation games for all ages.
    - Amusement Vision and Smilebit are working on games with more cinematic themes.
    - AM2 will continue making fighting games and targeting the core user.
    - There will be a new subsidiary specializing in sports games.
    - Mr. Suzuki will be heading a new subsidiary focusing on making new hit games.
