Thread: Arabian Themed Games

  1. I apologize in advance

What about the later q4glory games? I had an MSX game in mind, but I can't remember the damn title...

Super Arabian was the shit though, I'd really like to have a complete copy.

  2. #12
I had that Atari 800 Ali Baba game on my hard drive and didn't realize it. It turns out it's from 1981, predating Sega's game. That I didn't expect.

Rezo, I'll do a Sunsoft thread some time but I'll have to brush up on my knowledge of them a bit first.

  3. Shantae for GBC?

And I second putting Defenders of Oasis on the "must play" list for RPG lovers -- especially those who enjoyed the Phantasy Star games.
    No gnus is good gnus.

  4. Capcom's Aladdin game was pretty fun, although unbelievably easy. I remember beating it on hard mode and not dying once.

    It was still fun.

  5. Magic of Scheherezade takes the crown for me in this category. I wish there were more games with that used this theme. To answer one of Neozeed's questions, Arabian Nights: Sabaku no Seirei Ou hasn't been translated yet, but currently Rpgone and Yonin no Translators are both working on it. i had Al Qadim a long time ago, but I don't remember anything on it. Also, would anyone know if the sequel to Magic of Scheherezade, the Golden Empire was ever released? I've looked around a little bit, but can't find much.

  6. Please add any I missed. What are your favorite ones?
Kingdom Hearts had an Aladdin stage, does that count?

I'd say I'll always be fond of the first Prince of Persia (at least the one I played on my SNES).

  7. Yeah, I guess Defenders of Oasis was similar to Phantasy Star in the sense that they were both "old school" RPGs...that is, they're brutally unforgiving and challenging...I mean the first boss fight in Defenders was more difficult than the last boss fight in many recent RPGs I've played. You make one wrong move in the game and you're dead. I loved the challenge, it's how RPGs should be.
Right, because if anything validates the existance of a handheld piece of shit, it's taking those shitty handheld games and placing them on a screen big enough so that the inherent flaws of the software is visible to all humans. Including Ray Charles.

  8. I don't know if it really counts, but rainbow Silkroad for Nes has a sort of Arabian theme to it.

  9. Didn't Quest For Glory 2 have an Arabian theme? I know one of them did, not sure which one though.

  10. King's Quest 6 [PC]
Not the best King's Quest, but it had an arbian theme. Well, i guess it had a lot of different themes...
