Thread: Dennis Dyack Interview

  1. Dennis Dyack Interview

    check it out here

anyways, it seems to be a lot like all his other interviews so far. although this time around, he seems to be really excited about next generation.

  2. Whee! Another Dyack interview that consist of him kissing Nintendo's ass. Dyack seems like an alright guy, but these interviews with him suck as they never actually reveal anything that we haven't heard before. hey should be asking more specific questions (like how different the boss battles are in the GameCube remake, a point they brought up in the interview but never asked about it).

  3. There is such a thing as over exposure, Dennis. STFU for a bit and get the damn game done. Enough of your blabbing and ass kissing, mkay. This mofo should not be granted another interview until either:

    a) MGS:TT ships
    or
    b) He agrees to talk about another game they're doing

  4. that's sorta a good point Furious. i mean, when was the last (and maybe event he only time) you ever saw Retro Studios do an interview? right when the Prime was released.

  5. The truth is MGS:TT isn't going to fly off shelves when it is finally released. Even though SK may be pouring their hearts out into recreating this game and making it a "new" experience, the truth is the average joe isn't going to know the difference between this and all the other rehashes hitting the GC. RE was a good example of this but even Capcom screwed it up by crappy ports of the later games with little to no ehnancements at all.

Many uniformed GC owners will simply write off MGS:TT as simply a straght port of a 5 year old game (but higher res ala the PC port).

  6. i dunno about that, im not expecting super sales from it, but with super heavy advertising, i'd imagine it would atleast be worth Nintendo's time.

i don't watch TV, but i've heard from friends that the GameBoy Player commercial is on all the damn time. if this is the case, then maybe Nintendo gives more of a shit when it comes to advertising now.

  7. Well, I don't think MGS: TT will be released at all, considering the proper acronym should be MGS: TS.

Nevertheless, I agree with all of you. Dyack has been interviewed by lamers such as the PlanetGameCube guys, but even when he does a professional interview, he spents most of his time sucking up to Nintendo or Kojima. He might be an idealistic game designer, but he's a lousy talk.

With all the other games getting commercial air time this holiday season, there's no way in hell this "remake" is going to be able to cut it.

Hm, that's funny cuz I watch a fair amount of TV and I have yet to see a single commercial about the GBPlayer.

  9. I've enjoyed his games and I really love his taste in literature. I'll be sure to pick up MGS: TS when it comes out, I've always wanted to play through it again.

  10. Dennis Dyack sounds like a smart guy, but he needs to spend less time prepping for these interviews and more time making videogames. His development team is currently averaging one game per generation.

1996: Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen
    1997:
    1998:
    1999:
    2000:
    2001:
    2002: Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem
    2003:

    Make some fucking games Dennis.
