Otogi: Myth of Demons, a From Software action/platoformer being likened theme-wise to Shinobi, will be released in America on August 26 for Xbox. A sequel is already in the works.

So does this game suck, or what? I heard it got bad reviews in Japan, but North American mags seem right into it, and it doesn't look bad at all from those shots.

Really? Every post I've read on it has praised it and I think the review scores were good for a non-Zelda game. You get to slice up demons, destroy buildings, and upgrade your stuff in an rpg fashion at the end of each stage.

I, too, have seen mostly favorable impressions. The clips I've seen suggest some sweet combo/play mechanics, along with great visuals and sound.

Me either - they pushed the date up. It's also set to retail at $40, according to EB.

I've been waiting quietly for Otogi - I think it'll be a sleeper. The last week of August could be quite a windfall (Otogi, Soul Calibur II, Bombastic, Two Towers DVD, F-Zero).
