  2. I just got done playing the demo, and now I'm on my way out the door to reserve the game at GameStop.

    WOW!

From has exceeded all expectations (which were all the lowest of the low, as I cannot stand them) in bringing this game to life. The art direction is phenominal. From the beautiful, vibrant menu screens, to the character design, to the creatures, to everything else.

Pardon my excitement, I just thought you'd all like to know.

Word. From has really come around as of late. From a company that not once captivated me, to one that is in the foreground of my gaming scope. They have really seemed to of had a change of ideals when it comes to game design. Anyone know if they had a change of managment or designers in recent years?

After playing the demo, I've solidified my opinion that From Software is not the company I once knew. So my intrest in the already charming and interesting Thousand Land has increased a great deal. I just want to know what happened to Gaia Blade. That looked wicked cool.

Well said. I would have attributed this supprising title to Sega's involvement, but as I've stated earlier, Silent Line is quite good as well. That coming from someone who couldn't stand the entire series up until now. They truely have made a turn for the better, and I can't wait to see what they roll out with next...kinda like Fruit Roll-Ups.

Thousand Land? Do you have any linkage?

  5. As far as I know, SEGA doesnt/didnt have any involvement with Otogi. Other than publishing it in NA of course.

Thousand Land looks wicked cool, heres From's page for it.

The trailer is just so damned cute. In a sick distrubing kind of way. Like when the little corn thingies get hit in the head with a ton of arrows. It looks like a cross of Lemmings, Sim City, and Rampart.

Still... I havent seen much mentioned of Gaia Blade in a long while. Now that looked wicked cool. Awesome combat, town building abilities. And what looked like traces of RPG elements... yummy.

  6. Ah, yes! I remember Thousand Land from long, long ago.

And about Sega publishing it, I could have sworn they were producing it. Producing goes something like this: "I'm footing the bill, so you better be damn well sure we're doing this my way."

  7. Weird, I thought it was just publishing.

You are incorrect. The game was finished and released by From in Japan before Sega had anything to do with it. They had no involvement with the actual game whatsoever.

Yeah. And the demo makes it all to clear. "PUBLISHED BY SEGA."

  10. Sales+1

Just played the demo and while it didn't strike me as anything special I'm buying this game. Something sooooo satisfying about smashing a demon's sorry ass straight through a building.
