I believe Kansas City may be the only team in the AL who deserves it more than the Bosox.
The white sox I believe have another year of nips and tucks ahead of them before they can do it.
New York Yankees
Boston Red Sox
Chicago White Sox
Seattle Mariners
Oakland A's
Kansas City Royals
Minnesota Twins
That was my prediction as well. It'll be between the ChiSox and Oakland in the AL. I still think the Giants will come out of the NL, but GO CUBBIES!!!Originally Posted by Mamoscott
It would have been nice to have R&R Palmeiro, though.

Twins.
bastard of the new world order.
Here's a bump for this topic..might as well keep going with it till the playoffs..but how about renaming the topic to include the NL?
Boston is still there..so far..though Oakland and Seattle seem to be taking care of them pretty well. The Yanks beat up on the Orioles..and that ridiculous fall by Cust will haunt him for quite awhile. The Yanks will be seeing the O's quite alot so thats easy pickens for them. While I understand that he is the best post-season reliever in the business I would be concerned about Mariano Rivera getting hit so hard lately. The bullpen needs to pick it up a bit and give Mo a bit of a break.
So far no one in the NL and AL Central leagues is showing any real dominance against their competition.. someone has gotta start taking a nice lead already. The winners of both leagues could actually get determined around the last days of the season.
I'll take the Cubs for the NL Central only because of their nice starting pitching. The Cards pitching staff gets crippled every year..i mean really... can that starting staff be healthy at least for a month??!! I dont know about the Astros, but they have the offense to win as well as a good bullpen.
The Marlins are making a nice run at the wildcard ..would be nice if they won. Its either them or the Phillies. The Giants have lost 5 in a row but I dont see them losing too much ground in the NL West.
Do you have any idea of the marketing opportunities behind a Red Sox Vs. Cub's world series.

A part of me thinks it'll end up being Yanks vs Giants...but a BoSox vs Cubs would be the best!

I wish we had accquired sydney ponson instead of suppan.
our only flaw right now is that fourth starting postion.
Anyone else wish a trade did, or didn't happen?

the Bsox wouldn't have traded Freddy Sanchez if Nomar weren't sticking around.
That was short sightedness, personally.
My money is on pedro staying honestly, if only because our problem is pitching. Pitching. Thats it and its somethign we haven't been able to fix this year, granted next year we could, but I doubt it. I honestly doubt that we will find starting pitchers good enough to carry the team, after we kick pedro out.
its sad but true.
Derek lowe and suppan need to take a hike as well.
Burkett and the WAKE can stay.
But I do see your point. Nomar is valuable adn amazing. But, he's on the side of the team that is not really flawed (unless you count his fourteen fielding errors) where is pedro is the only pitcher with stats (not wins, stats) who makes our team stats look halfway decent.
