I can't say that I know too much about Philly architechture..... but don't scoff at NYC so easily. NYC has an amazing array of new and old buildings, including some of my favourites. In the respect NYC probably suffers in the eyes of some because its so damn big and you sort of have to know what to look for or you could miss things.Originally Posted by Frogacuda
As much as I disliked Chicago I must admit that there was some fine architechture there as well. I don't remember the specifics though...
Montréal has some really incredible architecture. The world's largest inclined tower, Place Ville Marie has a great simple + design and was once the largest building in the world in terms of area (not height). The Euro-style of the old city and old port, the plateau (where I live) has so much character, all the old churches (many of which are used for other purposes now), the old Sun Life building - which was once the tallest building in the Commonwealth, Tour McGill, etc.
Strickly for it's old buildings, Québec City is incredibly beautiful too.
That's good because driving sucks!Half of Philly's streets aren't paved. I used to live on a cobblestone road. And they're just wide enough for matchbox cars... God bless our historical society!
How is the mass transit in Philly?
I love not needing a car.![]()

Belmar is a nice beach.
