Thread: 1980's Cartoon Database

  1. From what I gathered via a Google search a few months back, the site went belly up due to a lack of funds back in September. I just use the Internet Archive for my Yesterdayland fix. http://web.archive.org/web/*/yesterdayland.com

Yeah, what's the deal with Fox Box? What ever happened to Fox Kids? Was the name too "kiddy?" I think it went downhill after Power Rangers became popular. Then you got the knockoffs, VR Troopers, Masked Rider.. and then they added "real" shows like WMAC Masters... wtf? That was always *after* my cartoons!!

*sigh* I still remember when we had so many choices when it came to Saturday mornings, CBS would air some Disney toons (Marsupalami, Bonkers) and NBC would even air a few (I don't remember which station it was, but I remember it had Bill & Ted and Back to the Future), and Fox Kids was great...
    Name: Rock
    Town: Arcadia

  4. And Gravedale High isn't on that list...why not?

Does anyone else remember that show? It may have been early 90's.

It stared Rick Moranis as the the voice of a teacher at a high school full of ghosts and ghoulies. I loved it.

    ..

..come to think of it, it hasn't much changed since. But a fantastix Rubix Cube show is too much. Hey, I was surprised to find freakin' TURBO TEEN in there.

If someone can find me some real screen grabs of the show and not one of them fake MS-Paint drawings, I think I'd open and Paypal account and give that person a 20 buck! or a Turbo Teen video? That would be totally rad! The guy could morph himself into a red corvette when his preassure was too high!
hahah or something like that, when he was excited I guess.

  6. What, no love for Dinosaucers? "A pterydactl's gotta do, what a pterydactl's gotta do."

I was impressed with some of the things I saw on the list: Saber Rider and The Star Sheriffs, Lost Cities of Gold, Spartacus under the Sea, Count Duckula/Danger Mouse. Hell, even Karate Kat. I'd love to find a VHS of some of those.
Never under any circumstance scrutinize the mastication orifice of a gratuitous herbivorous quadruped.

  7. omg, heathcliff and the catalac cats! i loved that show.

  8. THe best place to find this stuff would be Ebay. A friend of mine got every episode of Exosquad and Gargoyle's in an EBay auction for $4 each.

Unfortunately no, I don't think they show Thundercats anymore either.

Everything's changing. CBS use to have good Saturday morning toons back then (TMNT, even Storybreak), as well as ABC and NBC. Now everything on Saturday mornings is shit. FOX had a kickass lineup with Bobby's World, Eek the Cat, Tazmania, and The X-Men.

I'm glad they brought back WMAC Masters, where's Shannon Lee though.
