Thread: Saturn mod chip installation question....

  1. Saturn mod chip installation question....

Anyone knowledgable about modding Saturns...is there a way to use a 21-pin chip with the older 20-pin models? Doesn't seem like it, but I thought I remember reading somewhere that it was possible....

    nope!

  3. supposedly, 20 pin modchips do exist, but you won't be able to find any.
you'll either have to make due w/ the swap trick or get a model 2 saturn on ebay or something.

  4. not possible. get a 21 pin saturn on the cheap and mod that. course chips for that system are becoming harder to find since gamegizmo and lik-sang no longer sell them.

  5. Thanks for the info. I ordered a 21-pin chip from Lan Kwei with some other stuff awhile back for the hell of it, and I got a U.S. Saturn off ssbomberman, but looks like I can't use 'em together. Looks like I'll just keep the machine as a spare and see if I can come across a white Japanese one for cheap then. For cheap since I already have a modded one from many years back and I'm using this as an experience in modding.

  6. I heard you just needed a piece of scotch tape to mod your saturn. I don't know if it is true, but since the DC didn't need a mod at all, I'm guessing it is.

  7. That's the special "break your Saturn's drive in a week" tape mod. It's a fast and easy solution to the common household problem of doors that won't stay open.
