Stage 4, 7 and Final eh?Originally Posted by Dipstick
That explains why no matter how good I do on the other stages I never seem to get eternal play on them. I see now.
As if I didn't want that game enough already.Originally Posted by Roufuss

I know what I'm doing when I get home tonight, then. I've got some bonuses to unlock.
I've got the first Eternal unlocked but couldn't figure out how to do the others. I'd been going for the giganta-ball on Level 10 anyway (one of the best final levels ever, I should add) so Level 8 is the other one to concentrate on. Of course, then I have to consider whether it's worth trying for 100% item collection.
I love a game that holds its play value past completetion. I hereby nominate this game to go on the same lofty fan-geek plane of consideration inhabited by Rez and Ico.

I just got this game (my first US PS2 game oddly enough) and I was thinking of it as the next Rez, since it seems almost alien from the preset genres that I've gotten so used to. Also like Rez, the music seems like one of its best features. It reminds me of JSR just for it's colorful enviroment as well.
Lots of fun too. It seems to be selling well in the US, so hopefully we'll get the sequel.

Indeed. Maybe not Game of the Year (though I so rarely play recent games for being so far behind, I wouldn't know) but sure as hell has to be Soundtrack of the Year. Anyone wanna dispute? Give me a title.
Question for all, seeing as the places I'd want to check are inconvenient- how hard/easy is the game to find in your area? I know that Gamestop/EB are most likely sold out, but what other stores have piles of it? Circuit City? Toyr R Us? I'm just thinking that the Gamespot article might be a bit premature in trumpeting the rarity of Katamari Damacy.

The levels where you have to get an Animal can be ultra annoying. I'll be tiptoing through the level building my ball so I can ever handle a bigger cow or bear, and then will roll over what looks to be a regular sign and get "Cowwwwww!" and it turns out the sign has a picture of a Cow on it. Or its a cow colored road cone or something. Does anyone know if there is like a true biggest bear/cow you get?

Yesterday my local Bestbuy had four copies. Now they have three. From the shelf space I doubt they had many more than that to start with. Was the first place I looked so can't comment on others.Originally Posted by James

All the best buys got like 4 copies. We got 4 and so did like all the stores in our district. We sold all of our copies in an afternoon, not quite sure about the other BBs in the area though.

last night, i was playing stage 4 to unlock the unlimited timer. the camera is terrible when your katamari gets big.. took me a few tries to beat 1.3 meters, simply because i couldn't see anything in the house when it got above 1.1. at least the other non-house stages aren't as bad.
