First the hurricanes and now this.
So I go to my friend's house, and I tell him about the no time limit challenge thing, how you have to get 1.3m in level 4 and shit.
He tries and doesn't even get 1m.
I try and I get 1.3m, which I haven't been able to do at home. On his fucking memory card. Goddamn it.

By God, I just beat the game. Easily the most rewarding game to beat in quite some time, for me anyway, as it's almost all hand-eye coordination. This is also the fasted I've beaten a game in many, many years. Game of the year? For me, easily. I didn't think so at first, but once you get going, and get a chance to see the sheer size and scope of stuff in the game, it's amazing. It also helps explain why the graphics are so "plain" to begin with, they have to be for so much to be done so quickly, and it works well. Kudos to Namco for releasing this game.

100%ing some of these levels is going to be quite difficult. Like the final level, there are all these like sewer drains you can go into, and can only be a certain size to fit in them. And for all I know they could be in several places on other islands. Unless when you pick up an island you get credit for everything that would be on it, which I don't think is the case.
Barf! Barf! Barf!
No, whenever you reach a certain size and the perspective changes all the smaller items simply vanish from the map. Obviously to keep your PS2 from exploding.Originally Posted by Clash_Master
Similar thing happened to me. I couldn't beat Make a Star 7 at my house, I go to my girlfriend's house (who was also stuck on MaS 7), and beat it the first time I tried. I think she got a little annoyed that I beat it and she didn't...Originally Posted by Mzo

I so totally agree with this. Considering how much this game rules I can only imangine what gems are sitting in Japan that we don't know about. They should start a whole series of lesser known Japanese imports that cost 20 dollars.

Anyone know how long Namco worked on this? And when did it release in Japan?
According to GameFAQs, it was released in March of this year.

Wow, long wait for us.
I got an 869m katamari on Make the Moon. I was proud. Anyone here beat that yet?
