Fact: Box Drink hates the idea of the N-gage... let's continue
The last week or so my store has been getting flooded with Nokia shit: Display boxes, posters, pamplets, folding n-gage info packets, hats, pins, lanyards... it's been super gay. And because you just never know when a nokia rep is checking in on us, I have to act all excited about it's release and feign interest in it when discussing with customers. It has of course, made me quite unhappy. There must be a sin of sorts that applies to telling people that a 300 hundred dollar pice of shit is worth the money because it plays MP3's.
Thing is people seem to be ready to throw their money away on this thing, and I can't stop them without compromising my position. When people want a bad game I can offer them a better one, but I could get fired for bad mouthing the N-gage to much, especially if I tell people not to buy it. It's very frustrating sometimes.
I assume many of you are in a similar position as me sometimes... yup...

That really sucks. When I was younger, I was considering working at EB, but decided against it because of stuff like that. Good thing they let you show costumers better games, though.

I have no interest in buying an N-Gage (way too expensive for me), but I am not going to pass judgement until I play the system. I don't think its going to be so bad, even though some aspects of it have disappointed me.
For now, I actually hope it does fairly well because I want the competitors (Nintendo, Sony, etc) to adopt things like the Bluetooth technology that N-Gage is brining to the table and competition is sorely needed in handheld gaming.
*shrug*
ps. I hate it when game store employees offer me any "advice". I think they should pretty much just offer up their opinions when asked.![]()
SGGG, if you like extremely choppy Sonic, or 3D games that run at 10-15 FPS, then you might end up liking it after you play it.
If even one person in the world buys an N-Gage and it isn't for their console collection or comedy value (See: CD-i on both fronts) then I will be VERY shocked. How this...thing...is a good idea to anyone, I can not understand.
We need a Miyamoto laughing emoticon.

When a 50-60 year old man with wooden poles for arms and metal clamps for hands (I swear to god I'm not making this shit up) is going to buy Strech Panic for his grandson and I say Ratcet and Clank or Sly Cooper would be a better choice, I think I'm doing some kid a service. When someone who actually knows anyting about gaming wants a shitty game, I trust they know what they are doing and mind my own... it's all relative.Originally Posted by sggg

If the system is as bad as you - and others - say I certainly won't defend it (and I am not buying it regardless). I just thought I saw a few more mediocre reviews from a few quarters and I thought I'd hold off judgement until I can see for myself.
Fair enough. Some people need more advice more than others I suppose.Originally Posted by Box Drink
