Thread: Doom III

  1. Yield Doom III

    yeah, so it's Vicarious Visions.

dunno, i really only know them for THPS and JetSet on GBA. do these guys have much console experience?

  2. Well they did the console ports of Jedi Knight 2, which were apparently very good. I'm definitely going with the PC version now that I have the option, but I'm sure it's in capable hands.
Buy Yakuza and Oblivion. Help yourself, help TNL.

  3. I heard/thought the Jedi Knight 2 revs were quick dirty ports. I'm not sure how I feel about VV doing the ports, really.

  4. They did a great job with the GBA, anyway. But like someone already said, buying the Xbox revision never crossed my mind.

  5. GameSpot:

Thankfully, the Xbox version of Jedi Outcast doesn't follow the trend of bad ports that Dark Forces for the PlayStation threatened to start. Instead, Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast for the Xbox is a great port that retains the essence of what it must feel like to be an all-powerful Jedi, which was so well conveyed in the original PC game, without sacrificing much in the way of graphics, playability, or overall value. In fact, the game's complicated control scheme is better served on an Xbox controller than it is in the PC's typical mouse and keyboard setup. Developer Vicarious Visions, which has been responsible for the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater games for the Game Boy Advance in the past, handled the porting duties for this Xbox version, and as Star Wars fans will come to find out, the company did a great job with it.

  6. Well, that changes everything then. (I played the Game-cube port the other day - wasn't particularly impressed.)
