  3. I still like the soundtrack to Quake. I always thought it added so much cool.

I like Q3 a lot but it's not in the same league as UT.
Hrm. As opposed to UT2K3 which uses phrases such as, "Flawless victory!"?

I dunno... I must be one of the few that likes both Q3A and UT equally. For all I know I might be the same way with Half-Life 2 and DOOM III. We'll see when the games actually come out.

What is this. . .logic? We have no use for your "logic" here.

In retrospect, I should have omitted "id". It was in reference to the surprisingly shrill tone of your reply and seemingly unreasonable stance on CS.

Anyway, here's my deal. I've been very to somewhat disappointed in id products since Quake came out. Given some of the things I've heard and read, I see no reason to think Doom III will turn out any differently. If it does, super. But my prediction? Doom III will confirm that id is still better at designing technology than gameplay.

    Clear enough?

No way. The major factors that put UT over Q3 was that Q3 was heavily DM based. DM was pretty much dying and team play was becoming a big thing and UT offered this in spades over Q3. Not to mention UT was very noob friendly making anyone competaant at the game even upon their first try. It also had a very spiffy interface with tons of options while Q3 was barbeones.

In level design, depth, atmosphere, music, balance, Q3 excels over UT for vanilla DM.

Edit: More OT. While this is old news, it does suck. It's not just the loss of the music,(Which most likely would have been excellent ambience ala Q1) but he was doing all the sound effects too. He did all that for Q1 and it was superb. As long as they dun do something crazy like bring in Sonic Mayhem for a game like this, things should still be ok.
