Samba de Donkey?
A collaborative effort between Namco and Nintendo won't be the only unusual thing with the upcoming Donkey Kong game; rather than the usual platforming, it will be a rhythm and music-based.
IGN reports that its current title (likely tentative) is Donkey Konga and features Donkey Kong and other characters from the franchise as part of a conga drum game. It appears likely that the Konga will require seperate perhipheral, though it may still be playable with a standard GameCube controller.
Samba de Donkey?
I'm looking forward to it.

not like a new DK would. His marketability is nonexistent; those who grew up with him are too 'adult' to play a true DK game now, and kids would rather play GTA3 than something with a non-menacing gorilla.
My guess is Nintendo's trying to wedge in on the niche market. Too bad Sega has them covered, and taught well to its fans to stand by their side.
Or, you could consider the more-likely possibility that Nintendo saw what Konami was doing with Bemani and said, "why didn't we think of that?"
You have a gamer-stereotyping excuse for any mistake Nintendo makes.Originally Posted by Hero

Interesting in the fact that it's stupid or the fact that nobody wants to play a game like this with Donkey Kong?
I love the DK character, but this is just really weird.
