  2. :P Eh, Disgaea's gots plenty o' flaws, but it's the personality of the game that gets to me. (that's stupid...) Mehbe, but it does have plenty more than the old FFT and most of the Ogre series, and any strat. rpg that has an official English version.
For that reason, i'd take it over any English released strat. rpg (as of 9/5/2003AD). From what i've read, FFTA might still completely win me over but it'd take a lot to make me have anything less than love towards Disgaea, like a game-specific problem that causes my eyes to melt.

It's good you're giving it plenty chance, FuryFox. Still, if you don't like it, you only have yourself to blame. ;3

Hey, I wouldn't keep playing it if I didn't like it. I'm around 25 hours now, I think.

I think it's funny how my Ronin and my scout simply own the main characters. I got tired of Etna, so she's falling behind, and Laharl just can't seem to compete with the utility of an ax-ronin (special moves don't need any funky positioning) or the versatility of the gun-scout. I really wish the Ronin had some class-specific skills...maybe I'm just not high enough level yet.

Something else that's funny is how ridiculous some of the items are...my ronin had like 70 hp or something, then one rare muscle-brawn later and she has like 420. It's helpful for lvling new guys, but the items seem really unbalanced sometimes, since there's no level requirement or stat requirement for any of them.

  4. Take a walk through that Muscle Brawn's item world for some serious unfairness.

I just passed the pet zombie missions and must say that was the funniest dialogue I've ever witnessed, ever.

"A horse weiner?! That IS serious! Everyone, be on guard!"

Holy crap was I in stitches!

Now that you've played both La Pucelle and Disega can you compare the two for me? I've started playing LP again and pretty heavily so I'm wondering if I should snag a copy of Disega before it vanishes from the shelves, even though I don't have a PS2 capable of playing it.

  6. RedCoKid, I found La Pucelle at Himeya, but I can't find an order button or order form or any other means by which to add it to my shopping cart...Help...?

On the list of the games they sell there are "Buy It" buttons to the right side of every game, next to the price.

  8. Thanks!

  9. All right, did the mission where you have to fight the invincible "sexy girls." (need to save my Mana for some of those! -catgirl...rrrwaarrr)...the one where everything is on invincible geo panels except for one square...so...of course, I most the enemies together and throw it onto that square, which I have conveniently surrounded...so, I build the meter to level 8 that mission, combo'ing on the newly-made lvl 98 monster, and ironically, my two transmigrated upstarts get the killing blow, jumping them up to lvl 25, way past my lvl18 Laharl.

They still have no skills though...I'm beginning to think the only classes with skills are clerics, scouts (of dubious quality), and mages. If I had known that, the whole mentoring thing could have went alot better...as it is, I have all these skill-less fighter-types as pupils, and they're absolutely worthless...guess I gotta transmigrate them.

It seems like the monsters have more skills than my characters, so maybe I'll just make some of those...when I have the mana.

Yeah, after searching through 4-5 Gamestops to finally find one, I too must admit that the art in the guide was not as abundant as posts in this thread made it out to be. To be fair, there is a lot of art on each page, just not a lot of variety. I was hoping for more art that wasn't in the game, though the few full-page pieces are nice.

Sounds like a plan for me too. I'm heading to NCSX, unless there's a better place to order. Suggestions?
