    Yes, that's true. I use spears, bows, guns and spells for the combo, since only two people can melee with that spot in the corner. Your way is better, except that the dude who has to lift and throw the prism can't be part of the combo...but you're mostly just leveling a few characters with this technique anyway.

    As far as buying some monsters, all the good ones are like 2500 Mana...my top characters has a little over 1000, and she's level 30. So...unless things pick up, I don't see myself buying any cool monsters for a while.

    The cost is based on how many you've killed, so if you go whack more of whatever you want to buy, the mana cost will decrease. Not sure if its worth the time or not, but its there.

  4. I just got this game and I'm not even done chapter 1 yet. (Had to make some characters and also draw a new webcomic) But this game is awesome.

    I love the Pvt. Pinnies. They're so awesome. That Bruce Pinny you get at the beginning is levelled up with me like no tomorrow. I put him as my 'second' in command (meaning nothing, really.) I'm still getting hang of the battle system but I'm loving it all.

    I love the environment triangle ideas and the sprite usage is amazing. I have yet to travel in the Weapon World.

    Any suggestions and tips before I dive in head first? (I made a subordinate for Bruce called Bruce's Toy [a female warrior] and the 'bitch' of the team named Rupaul. I just use him as a mild distraction so enemies will waste rounds while I'm trying to get something all set up.

    I wouldn't even attempt it w/o a "Mr. Gency's Exit" first. It allows you to leave the Item world at any point. Otherwise, you can't leave until you pass the 10th floor down, and the item world can be very unpredictable and/or tedious. I'd hate to invest too much time into just to die or have to leave the house or something and lose all that work.

    Also: Pay attention to geo-panel combos...I've racked up some huge bonuses in the item world with the crazy panel layouts (and then my scout can reset them and do some more!).

    I accidentally blew up a geo-triangle in the tutorial and killed off all the enemies and everyone in my team except Lahraul. Good ol' Bruce.

  7. I guess, then, that I was lucky with the item world. On the third floor of my first trip through I won two Mr. Gency's Exits from the bonus counter.

    Everything from there has proceeded like butter.

    Just so you know, in episode three if you talk to the Gate Keeper with Laharl having no level ten items on him, she'll give you a free Mr. G's Exit.

    Some of my trips through item world have been much smoother than others...if I'm not trying too hard of a item, I can normally just exit after level 10. My main problem is I just don't normally want to play that long, and the item worlds I've been in are always a headache, with puzzle-like geo-panels (cloning + invincible = the opposite of fun) and tough navigation (extremely drawn-out or tons of throwing involved). If it was only like, every 3 levels for you to go save your game, I'd like it better.

    The leveling is annoying me again...I have a couple characters that don't get much use, and I want to transmigrate them into some of the new classes I've unlocked (like Knight, Star Mage)...but, I can't believe how many times I've set-up some elaborate leveling process to get them the mana they need to transmigrate, and something always messes it up (enemy kills themselves on a counter-attack, etc.). It's not that big of a deal, but, it seems like I have to go on little specialized "leveling" trips alot more in this game than any other I've played.
