Thread: Alien Quadrilogy

  1. Well, Everyone seemed to forget, that I also posted about my love for Alien 3, in all Alien related threads we had over the time. Thats why seeing the possible unctu original version of it, will be such a thrill.

  2. It will be. It'll just be a little sad to see my Alien Legacy set be made obsolete. At $100, this box set is going to make me damned poor for a month.

I wish they'd hurry up and make Alien 5.

  3. Wow! I've been trying to see the Alien 3 workprint for years and years now... nice that it's finally getting a release. Hopefully the restored footage will be much better than the bootleg stills I've seen...

Are they going to break up the discs in the set, y'think? I don't see any reason to drop a c-note on another Alien and Aliens.... and Resurrection can go back where it came from. I just want the Alien 3 disc!

Exactly. If they added new stuff to Alien(Aliens they did already), then maybe, but I still think these should've been sold seperately. Saved us a lot of money doing it this way, but no. Another $100 down the drain.

  5. I'm sure you will be able to find those on Ebay separately, after the release.

  6. Third option... Rent and Rip!

Seriously, I've spent about 100 on various copies of Alien 3 alone. Enough.

  7. The Alien, Alien 3 will feature a new extended cut.
The Aliens DVD will feature the original theatrical cut for the first time.
Alien Ressurrection will have alt. opening and endings.

Plus not to mention you get a special features DVD that aren't necessarily tied to an individual movie.

Plus we're probably gonna get new audio mixes for all the DVDs.

I really think it's just fine as a box set.

  8. I think it really worth it. At least to me, since I dont even have any of Alien films on dvd yet.

  9. I dunno... I've gone through Fullscreen VHS, Widescreen VHS, Laserdisc, and finally the Legacy set. I don't know if I'm up for another set.

But, if you don't have the DVD's yet, it's just fine.

  10. So far, I only have the first Alien on DVD. It's my favorite of the series. I thought 2 and 3 were good, but I absolutely despise Resurrection. There are no redeeming qualities in that film to me.

Extended cuts of Alien and Alien 3 with sound remixes (possibly) sound like all the reason I need to purchase the lesser parts of the series.

I don't care what they do with Resurrection. I'll probably watch it once to see if it's any better with the added scenes, decide it isn't, and go right back to Alien.

I think the series should end before it gets any worse. No Alien 5 and ESPECIALLY no Aliens vs. Predator.
