Thread: New TV Suggestions...

  1. New TV Suggestions...

I'm planning on picking up a TV because my current one sucks ass. I'm decideing between two and want to see if you guys had any input or experience.

The first is a sony 27" WEGA:

I know these WEGAs are pretty good quality and the pseudo-16:9 v-compression looks quite sexy.

    But, I found this:

    OMFG HDTV WTF!!!111ONEONE

Advent 27" HDTV with 4-Line Comb Filter

An HDTV sounds very tempting but its a brand that I'm not to sure of.

So what do you guys think?

    Thanks for the input.

  2. I dont knwo anything about the other one

but i have a Sony 27 inch wega and i love it
picture is beautiful on it and once you go flat screen youll never use a round tube again

has componet input and i do love watching movies and playing certain games with the 16:9 squeeze looks freaking awesome

im really happy with the TV i have
    Where I play

  3. I'm still waiting for a TV that can do 720p that doesn't cost 12 billion dollars. As of now, that doesn't exist.

  4. They are sticking the name on TVs now?

They used to be a mid-high end speaker company (think Mission or Klipisch)

    Poor advent.... poor poor advent.

***runs home to hug his Advent Baby IIIs***

  5. I'd go with the Advent HDTV. Progressive scan for $500 is way too good a deal to pass up.

Non-HDTV Wegas are too expensive for what they are. If you go analog, get something cheaper.

  6. Advent, eh?

    Never heard of 'em.

The thing with a Sony Trinitron is that it LASTS. From my family's experience, they go through 15 years of heavy usage before developing any noticable problems.

  7. You may want to get the model number of that Advent TV and search Google with it. If I recall correctly, some are just Samsung rebadges.

  8. I'm waiting for those new glass tube HDTVs that are supposed to hit for under $1000 this year or next. Til then, my 27" Panasonic will do just fine.

Eh? I never heard of this, and I usually try to keep up with the latest technology. Please explain.

  10. I'm gonna go with the Advent HDTV, thanks guys. =)
