Thread: Stop using PayPal (formally someone stole my money)

  1. Get a list of everyone on paypal, and beat them up. You'll catch the culprit sometime. That's the best I can think of, sorry. Hope you get it all back.

They accessed it through my bank account.

I hope you get that $1400 back and that the fool who did this to you finds his ass behind bars.
I got one of these as well, but it was from eBay. I thought it was a little fishy from the start, so I checked the eBay site for such a "security check email." I didn't find anything so I never filled it out. A closer look at the sender, and instead of the normal aw-confirm@ebay.com, it was misspelled with aw-confrim@ebay.com. Those who don't look close enough will have been reamed by now.

    So how was your day?
Sounds like when we got my dad his new comp, the place sent us a faulty PC, then asked for a credit card number 'for warantee purposes' or some junk, and then started stealing hundreds and hundreds of dollars in pay-porno accounts.

    Never shop www.cyberpowerpc.com EVER.

  4. You had your main bank account hooked up to Paypal?

I don't entirely understand how they did that without your authorization. Taking something (money) from somebody is illegal without permission (in the form of a signature). Paypal could be in legal trouble here if they allowed their service to be used by crooks and have no counteracts in place to prevent this.

I'd go to Paypal with an axe and machete if this happened to me. Seriously. I'd use whatever money I had left and hack up the idiot that just told me "OH WELL!" over the phone. He'd be dead.

    Jesus!

You were robbed by a homosexual?

Damn, did he leave a pink calling card or something?

    Sucks, regardless.

  6. So it's a bank error? Problem solved, the bank gave out your info so the bank owes you $1400. Get a lawyer, you'll be wanting one.

Good luck nailing their collective asses to the wall.

  7. Shinobi man, I am so sorry that is really, really sucktacular. I wish I could give it all back to you somehow but i don't have any. ;_;

I would DEFINATELY put a close on the account you are using, change all your passwords and stuff, and just be safe. I hope that it gets back to you somehow, but in the meantime, try not to get too upset, cause that will make stuff worse.

    anyway, I'm so sorry.

Yah, my main account is hooked up to PayPal.

The only thing I can think of at the moment is they got my info and password, but how?

I don't know that for sure just yet, at this point I blame it on PayPal.

I'm closing my account as soon as all this is fixed.
