Thread: Visitor Q

  1. Xbox Visitor Q

I saw this movie last week at my friends house and it left me speechless. It's about a family with serious issues and this "guest" stays over(for no apparent reason) and sets the family straight. Well, straight meaning they end up more disfunctional than they started.

Just think of American Beauty but covering every taboo subject from incest and necrophelia, to mothers lactating. Well, that last one isn't all that taboo, but it's not a pleasant sight. The movie was done by the guy who did Ichi the Killer... and from what I've been told, it has the same depraved sense of humor. It's pretty messed up, but it's hilarious at the same time.

  2. off topic, but director related, Miike also did "Happiness of the Katakuris". a horror musical that's full of laughs and great music, but low on horror. i caught it on the sundance channel last night but missed out on maybe the last 30 minutes. it's so out there that it's good.

i still need to see Visitor Q though.

  3. I also watched some of Katauris last night, and it was indeed a weird experience. I read alot about Visitor Q, and it one of few Miike films on my list to get, but I need to first watch his other films like Gozu, Outlaw Fire, Agitator, Guys from Paradise, etc.

  4. I love this movie. It's like John Waters' films but Japanese. The corpse fucking left me speechless.
