Well, I would have voted for Kid Icarus anyway, so I guess it doesn't really matter.

kid icarus was more of a great game, but when i saw the thread title, i just said to myself "niki" so to kid niki the vote goes.

Kid Niki, without a doubt. A much better game than Kid Icarus. And well, he is a radical ninja after all. A radical ninja with hair.

the game was so awful, but a good number of my 8-bit memories come from there..

niki was cool, but one hit kill platformers hurt my pride. Icarus was a good adventure game, it only annoyed me with the pointless scoring requirements for good upgrades. I beat it with the player guide (yes, i was a pre-adolescent scrub) but some of those were just busywork,and all password games bugged me.
