Thread: Dreamcast in a cabinet.

  1. #1

    Dreamcast in a cabinet.

Today I decided to put my Dreamcast into one of my cabinets.

I have a basic idea of what needs to be done. (By basic I mean I can wire up the joysticks and buttons.)

The video end of things frightens and confuses me... can any of you give me any pointers?

  2. can you show a pick of your SF games on it?

I don't know how you'll wire up the sticks. If you were using an x-arcade cab, it would be easy to set the sticks up in the front tray.
"Your soul better belong to Jesus, mmm-mmmmm..... cause your ass belongs to me!"

The sticks are easy... hack two controller and run wires to the correct switches on the joysticks/ buttons.

P.S. I'm thinking I messed up when I put this in Sound Off.

Could someone please move it to Gaming Discussion?

88 I know what will make it work.

Stick it in her butt. Always fixes everything.

    you're the boss.

  6. If your cabinet is already hooked up for Jamma, get a Jamma fingerboard, and hook up everything to that. As long as your DC has the proper connections for RGB, it should be fairly simple.
To understand man, walk it shoe on other foots.

See, it's funny, 'cause he used to have Tony Danza as an avatar.

  8. I've had an extra cab chilling in my basement for over a year waiting for me to do the same thing.

    I'm too busy

  9. I saw one guy who was doing this recently on the neo-geo.com boards. Think he opened up a VGA box, wired in 3 100k ohm resistors (one each on the R, G and B), disconnected pin 6, and hooked it up to a J-Pac for the video.

There are more straight forward ways, of course, like hacking RGB cable to a jamma harness (the way I'll likely do it) or just paying for a pre-built whatchamacallit. "My" method is all outlined here:
