Thread: Japanese FPS

  1. Wasn't Codename Tenka done by Genki?

EDIT: Oh, I'm getting it confused with Kileak.

  2. Outrigger is a blast... I'd consider it better than most American console FPS, at least for death-matching.

  3. A google search confirmed that Kileak 2's sequel is indeed called Epidemic in the US. While Brahma Force is also by Genki, I'm not sure it's directly related to Kileak.

I'd forgotten about Tenka, but that's by Psygnosis. That was one of those games that got super hyped-up in Next-Gen, then turned out to be nothing.

  4. I've played Maken Shao, and I think that the 3rd person perspective is better suited for the game.

And didn't ECM once say Goldeneye is superior to every PC FPS

I completely forgot about Epidemic. Brahma Force seems to be Kileak 3, even though the name doesn't say it.

Yeah, I was arguing with ECM back on the GameGO! boards. He thought Goldeneye and The World is not Enough on N64 were the two best FPSs. Talk about a console bias.

  6. Actually I think he was into DOS gaming. He mentioned that he was a big fan of Prince of Pesia in GF.

He's a fan of old-school computer gaming. He even said Ultima IV or V on the C64 was his favorite game.

I don't want to bash the guy. He is very knowledgeable in some areas, especially the shooter genre and arcade gaming. He just lacks appreciation for modern computer gaming unfortunately.

  8. Daedalus for the Saturn. But I've never played it. Apparently it's a Wolfenstein style FPS.
Wasn't this released in the US under the name Robotica? If they're the same game... Not good. At all.

  9. Yes, it was. By Acclaim.

Edit: Oops, it's Deadalus actually, rather than Daedalus. Clever!
