The Zelda preorder deal was great, but this one... Well, I had that vector game on my Mac Classic for years.
Anyway, are there any on-foot stages included in the Rebel Strike demo? Is it as bad as people mentioned at E3?
The EB Games website says the pre-order disc is shipping today, but they charge you an extra $5 for shipping and you can't cancel your pre-order. I'll probably just go down to the store and see if they have them and save the $5.

Sorry, K3V. I meant more than a decade.Originally Posted by RedCoKid
Nintendo/Lucasarts and its fans are hyping this promotion for more than the preorder deal is worth. It's like a computer salesman saying, "If you buy a PC from us, you'll get a free handheld calculator!" Saying that the Star Wars vector game is outdated is an understatement.
maybe not as bad.. it's nothing special, though. the on-foot garbage dilutes what was already a mediocre action game. sure, it's pretty, but rs3 only makes me want a next-gen sequel to x-wing.Originally Posted by RedCoKid

anyway yeah its just for pre-orders and the vector arcade game is very very nice
I think the 1983 Star Wars arcade game holds up incredibly well, although home versions aren't quite the same without the arcade controller.
I haven't played the Mac version but it looks like a port made from the ground up. I assume this bonus disc is actual emulation of the arcade game, so it's probably much better.
We too finally recieved these at our store today. I must say the game is amazing. Factor 5 just seems to get better and better. And why would you cancel your preorder? This is by far gonna be one of the biggest Gamecube titles this year.

Reserve the game for $5, get the preorder disk, never pick up the game, admit that $5 for the original arcade Star Wars game is a steal and don't be a cheap bastard, that's my advice.
We got the game in too, I've got my copy in my backpack. I'll probably pick up the game when it comes in and trade it in about a week later, unless I really end up liking it. Which I might, you never know.
