Do you think that the Dreamcast is the best console in this generation?

I don't have the Cube or PS2 (but I have more friends that have a Cube than PS2), and even I wouldn't make such a claim.


Just in the fact of more/better 3rd party support, PS2 reigns supreme right now. Just for that fact, the odds are of having more AAA quality games than on GC, X-Box, even our beloved DC.

Granted, I would still get a Cube before a PS2, but that's just my personal preference.

But to answer the question, I'll put it like others have:

Most favorite, yes.
Best overall, no.

But had things been different and DC were still around today, that would probably be a whole different story.

its a matter of taste theres more of what i play on my GC then on my PS2 besides Disgaea the last new release i bought on my PS2 was either Auto Modellista or GGX2 i cant remember which came first but it was quite a time of waiting

DC's easily my favorite of this generation, but i don't find myself playing it as much as i used to..

it's mind-boggling to think of the sega exclusives it would be getting if it were still kicking today..

it makes me muy triste.

1)ICO
2)Devil may cry
3)onmishima 2
4)shinobi
5)VF4

So quite frankly, I've only got three games that make the gamecube worth my time (RE0/remake, skies of arcadea) since I don't see anything that's catching my interest at the moment.

I would hope that my favorite console, had more than a dozen must play games on it. I love my GC, but there's only so many great titles on the system and it's a long ways from passing up the amount of quality titles, that are even on the DC.

when i don't see a game that interests me on the GC, i go and hunt down more DC games that i missed. i love the GC, but the DC is what got me back to games. oh god, that faithful day when i first saw an import Powerstone running at EB. that pretty much sealed the deal for me, now i own 3 DC's!

I voted No, as much as I love Sega and what they have done with the DC... The PS2 has too strong of a lineup of awesome games (of course, it has more crap games than anyone else, but that's inevitable). DC is 2nd to PS2, and that's not too shabby IMO.
