The Dreamcast turns 4 years old in the US !!

Ironicly I forgot about the anniversery, and I was going to wear my Dreamcast shirt (from launch) tommorrow that I never wore before. I wont be home so i'll be missing my DC game time.

I think I'll celebrate the Dreamcast's 4 year anniversary by selling it, because with Sega Tennis, Rez, Fur Fighters, Rayman 2, and Ecco the Dolphin on the PS2, Ikaruga, Sonic Adventure, Sonic Adventure 2, and Skies of Arcadia on the Gamecube, and Soul Calibur 2, Crazy Taxi 3, Phantasy Star Online Episdoes I & II, JSRF and Shenmue II on the Xbox, there really isn't much of a reason for owning one anymore, except for the ocassional Mars Matrix session.

Hmm, I'm still enjoying Sega Bass Fishing and Marine fishing, just fine on the Dreamcast. Nothing wrong with a little Sega Rally 2 or Street Fighter III as well.

Well, if anything, it just shows that Sega did an AMAZING job in regards to the DCs launch- are there any other console launches as memorable as 9-9-99?

Getting my DC at midnight 9-9 with a crowd + the best launch lineup ever + the nifty "9" thing with the launch date = memorable.


Other companies need to try to make console launch days as cool as Sega did...

Yeah, and it was my first import console. I was, what, sixteen, and my grandfather and I driving down from VA to NC to get to Buy Rite was HUGE. Playing four player Marvel v Capcom that night was even bigger... But I'm not gonna celebrate the fuckin' day.

It's videogames, man. Videogames.

If anything, getting my SNES or 64 was the best. One game, and I was in Heaven for a long, long time.

7F, yep, the PSX was released on 9/9 as well. I'm doing an article on both system launches for a "this day in gaming history" thing for G2X. Sidez, I was trying to make a point, thanks for missing it. Not meant as a knock on you man, it just irks me to see Tyler pull that shit when it wasn't necessary.

You Know, I think it was the Dreamcast that originally created Segatron the character. He has gone from 100 stories to a 3 foot "Robbit" plus surprises.

Maybe I'll pick it up. I played Blue Stinger and while the graphics weren't awesome and everyone ran like they had a thermometer stuck in their ass, it was a good game. At least you didn't have to worry about running out of ammo. I played it on a Christmas break one year and it added a lot to the ambience.

I'll play some DC today, but I still play my DC all the time. I didn't get mine at launch because I'm a cheap prick, so maybe I'll have to celebrate on the last day of the rebate and the first day of the price drop. That was a sweet day. I was thinking about getting one, but when there was an opportunity to pick one up for half price, that was my launch day. I think it was IGNDC's cover story for the day.

Dreamcast LIVES!

It's got an awesome arcade shooter on the way (Border Down), and even a new game from Sonic Team coming up... Puyo Puyo Fever!

Now who'd have thought that the ol' DC would still be getting new titles in late 2003?

The night was fun! It started off with a round of mind-numbing Chu Chu Rocket (the most aggrivating game ever), followed by some Sega Bass Fishing (with the reel, of course) which got some great laughs due to its English-with-a-Japanese-accent vocals and crazy gameplay, then some Samba De Amigo, Powerstone 2, and Worms Armageddon. Sure, it's only like 1/20th of the good DC games that I own, but it was a fun night
