Thread: Favorite Sierra adventure series?

  2. I've played Roger Wilco so many times, I think I've become him, more or less, by now.

Quest For Glory is one of my all time favorite game series... of all time no less. That's a game I want a 128 bit 3D update of. The VGA makeover was ambitious, but lacked a lot of quirky style from the EGA version.

I was thinking of doing my own remakes of popular Sierra Series, but I kept thinking of Lawyers banging down my door for stealing profits from a license Sierra is never using again...

So The SPace Quest update will simply not feature Roger Wilco. If you see a SLUDGE or AGS game posted on this forum in the future, having anything to do with space, that is Space Quest: Episode I, Lawyer remix.

  3. hooray, i get to pimp my one and only superthread.

i think i'd go with quest for glory, with space quest a close second. both have their ups and downs. qfg is more consistently good (barring #5,) but space quest has a few amazing games of its own, 3 and 5 being my favorite.

The VGA remake of QFG features some of the worst art direction I've ever seen in an adventure game. It looks like total shit.

  6. Claymation works well with adventure games, but not excessively detailed ones like Quest for glory. Plus, low res VGA was the worst time for such experimentation.

I wanna knock off Quest For Glory too, but a hybrid really makes my buzzers ring.

I even considered doing the original Phantasy Star in QFG style, but I have not the lawyers to try...

And I'm also now very interested in the Quest for Glory games. But have you seen the ebay prices for the QFG and KQ collections? It's wacky. At least for my wallet. I remember seeing the QFG collection in Best Buy like five years ago but didn't buy it for some reason. I shoulda stocked up.

  8. King's Quest 6 has got to be one of the best games ever.
