It seems like I've been wating forever to see this damn movie.

I saw it today and I loved it. It's totally absurb and really funny but it also serves as a social commentary on the elderly and their treament.

Bruce Campbell had every nuance of Elvis's speech and movement down perfect. He was just great. Seeing a senior citizen Elvis, with a walker, get into a kung-fu stance is just too much. Bruce definitely steals the show, but I have to say theat Ossie Davis as JFK was great as well.

If you go in expecting a kick-ass all-out action movie, you'll be disappointed. This is a monster movie, but it's not really about the mummy. It's more about the monster of getting old and the isolation associated with it. It really illustrates the importance of friendship and adventure in life.

As for the mummy, well let's just say that Bubba Ho-Tep is a ressurected redneck egyptian pharoah who devours souls by sucking them out of people's asses.

As far as I'm concerned, this is Bruce Campbell's best performance by far.

Watched it few weeks ago, and thought it was great. Loved the music theme too. Both Bruce Campbell and Ossia Davies were great in the their parts. Mummy in cowboy outfit was weird, and so was its way on sucking souls explained in above post.

Yay, Bruce Cambell lying in a bed for an hour and a half. Don't expect anything remotely as fun as Evil Dead, and you might enjoy it.

He's only in bed for the firs 1/3 of the movie. This is easily one of the best movies I've seen this year. Luckily I wasn't expecting anything like Evil Dead and I'm not sure why anyone would

I rented the DVD last night...I was pretty tired, so I didn't want to get into it, but I did watch the first 20 minutes or so, up until the part where Elvis explains the switch he made with the impersonator. So far it's great. I'll probably watch the whole thing tonight.

Is it a comedy? Is it a horror movie? Is it a drama? Who knows. Damn cool so far, though.

Also, I re-watched the first 15 minutes or so with the "King" commentary on...pretty amusing.
