Seriously, though, it's a fun little movie. I was hoping for some sub-level Ash ass kicking, and instead most of the movie is Bruce doing an ageing Elvis impersonation. If that's enough to float your boat, fine. Bruce Campbell is a great physical actor, and since he's saddled in bed with a bad hip, none of the dynamics that made the Evil Dead series so great are present.

Watched it last night. Man, was this movie weird. I mean, really, and not in the "wow, this is awesome" way, but in the "who the fuck came up with this" kinda weird. It really wasn't what I was expecting at all.

That said, I loved it. It was a comedy, it was a horror movie, it was a drama...actually, I have no idea what it was, but it was fresh and unique. And even more surprising, it actually ended up being kinda touching and sad. I thought it would be a parody of Elvis but no. While certain aspects were a parody, they also really portrayed Elvis as a lonely old man, full of regret, wanting one last adventure. Great, great movie.

I re-watched it with the "King" commentary track, and while it was amusing, it wasn't as funny as it could have been. Bruce needed to have been a little more over the top while recording it. Still, it's worth a listen.

I got my baby cousin to say "Bubba Ho-Tep" instead of "please". It's great.

I saw this in the theater on Halloween last year and just watched it again last night. I liked it more the second time. Bruce is always entertaining no matter what he's in. Besides it's been a long time since we had a line of such pure cinematic gold as "You suck the dog dick of Annubis" in hieroglyphics no less.

I also saw this masterpiece on Halloween night.

The movie is the perfect blend of horror, comedy, and philosophical life pondering.

Funny thing is; some in the audience were more interested in their programs than at what was on the screen...

That about sums up my reaction. I think I may just like strange movies more than the normal person, though. I wonder if they really are making "Bubba Nosferatu" or if it was just a joke...
