I personally thought the trailer looks ridiculous...
and retarded.
Man, you start sounding more and more like Delta.
No way, man. I would never talk shit about a QT film. He's the shit! This movie will be good. I will love it.
I call it like I see it, boss...Originally Posted by Despair
In all seriousness, I was looking forward to this, but the trailer was one of the more dissapointing things I've seen in recent years. It was REALLY REALLY dopey and stupid.
I kind of wonder what you thought this movie was going to be like in the first place then, because I thought it was made clear from the start that the movie was going to be just really fun and extremely tongue-in-cheek...for lack of a better description =/Originally Posted by diffusionx
Actually Salsashark, I knew nothing about it whatsoever... when I saw the trailer, I didn't see "tongue-in-cheek", I saw "really stupid", like I said. But its clear that nobody here is gonna listen in the midst of this QT lovefest (did you guys even like Jackie Brown?).
Jackie Brown sucked, I'll give you that. But I still think QT can make a good movie.
Kill Bill should be an amazingly violent movie, which is good. I'm not going in expecting it to be in the same league as Pulp Fiction, but I think it'll still be tight.
Okay, so the big QT trailer over at Dave's Trailer Page....and, it's an embarassment. I'm sick of people who have no good reason to be swinging swords or using kung-fu doing so. It just makes them look stupid, and it makes that movie look stupid. I don't really like any of the actors, except for that dude from Species, and the whole thing reeks of pointlessness.
Now, I know Tarentino likes the old kung-fu flicks (talked about being a big fan on the Iron Monkey dvd), so he should know that the inescapable charm and appeal they have is totally absent in his piece. It just seems like a dumb vanity project, albeit a big-budget, big-name one that. At least, that's what I got from the preview.
Oh yeah, Lucy Liu isn't Japanese. I hope the movie has some sort of explanation for that, and doesn't just figure any asian can pass for japanese if they have a katana and a kimono.
