Thread: Kill Bill Official Full Trailer-Gory Pics- 2 KickAss Bootleg Trailers - My Review !!

  1. Hot News. 2 new KICK ASS bootleg trailers for KB.

    Get them here:

    http://jasse.net/

    or straight donwload:

    KB1 http://jasse.net/trailers/Kill-Bill_1.mov

    KB2 http://jasse.net/trailers/Kill-Bill_2.mov

    Enjoy

  2. Those were both amazing, much better than the regular current trailer unsurprisingly. Thanks Despair

Supercool Manchu, Inc. are my new favorite production company

  3. The two new trailers are just as bad. I'm seriously beginning to question your collective taste, because most of you seem like relatively smart people. No. You guys can't trick me anymore. The number of bad movies this board has deceived me into seeing is simply alarming.

...although, I am intrigued by the animated cut shots, not because they look quality in any way or that I expect them to add anything to the film, but are they actually integrated with the main story? If so, that's really weird. The style of animation just seems like a really odd choice for QT, so I'm wondering what that's about.

  4. Man, I cant say anything about your particular tastes either. Why cant people be excited about the film, even if seems totally idiotic to you? No one is forcing you to see anything. Its not like me or someone else drag you to see some movie that you hate, so you can blame us for reccomending it.

You havent even seen it, and judge it just based on trailers. I think these 2 new trailers are very stylish, and Kill Bill will be what its trying to be - a throw back to the old campy exploitation films that gave viewer what viewer wanted - kungfu, violence, gore and style. I think QT can deliver a fun film, and I keeping my fingers crossed.

I dont understand people reactions to this calling it stupid and ridiculous. If audiences could enjoy Matrix Reloaded, they can enjoy this.

Oh, I'm not claiming anyone did, or that the supporters can't [support it]; personally, I don't see why you do. I'm just saying I'm losing some faith in the validity of the board's consensus. I just think that in the face of such overwhelming support for a film like this, it's only appropriate that someone provide a critical opinion, so the scale isn't tipped so unanimously (and inaccurately).

That's the whole point of trailers. If I have to actually see the movie before I can decide whether I want to go see it, then there's something wrong there. Furthermore, just because that's what QT is trying to do doesn't mean that's what is evident in the trailers. There are fine lines between what makes something good or bad, especially "camp" as you say. Good Camp: Evil Dead, Drunken Master, Versus, Fifth Element...Bad Camp: Transporter, Brotherhood of the Wolf, and seemingly, Kill Bill.

I think that's the argument you make that I never get. You say that a movie is good just because it has those elements a certain audience is looking for, without considering how these elements are pulled off. I'm not saying you have to justify why you like it, but then I don't need to justify why I don't. Kill Bill just seems like a bloated, pretentious vanity project. *shrug* Maybe I just don't like QT's directorial style.

I think Charlies Angel 2 may be a more appropriate comparison. The Matrix movies had reasons for throwing in whatever the director's thought was "cool." Kill Bill seems to throw things simply for the sake of it...

Tarentino: "Hey, swords and Kung-fu are cool...we need those in this movie."

Soon to be Fired Assistant: "But sir, none of the actors know kung-fu or how to use swords, and it doesn't make much sense story-wise."

Tarentino: "Silence! I have a cult following! I can do whatever I want!"

Granted, I know I'll still see it, but matinee tickets, and without the expectations of it being something great. You don't feel so let down when you know the movie's going to be bad going in.

You have put it way better than I ever could have. For the record, I have questioned Despair's taste ever since he proclaimed Equilibrium to be brilliant...

  7. Same goes for your taste and love for MR So we are even, Diffusion.

  8. What is MR, good sir?

edit: oh yea, Matrix Reloaded... right yea I liked it a lot. I first thought you meant that it was Minority Report, which I was reasonably fond of as well.

Now, I know Tarentino likes the old kung-fu flicks (talked about being a big fan on the Iron Monkey dvd), so he should know that the inescapable charm and appeal they have is totally absent in his piece. It just seems like a dumb vanity project, albeit a big-budget, big-name one that. At least, that's what I got from the preview.
Maybe what you aren't getting is that Tarantino isn't trying to replicate any movie, he's paying homage to them and making a movie that he'd like to see...or that's what I gather anyway. I don't want to defend the movie itself too much yet, not even having seen it, but I think it's safe to say it's intended for people that really love movies, and the kind that Tarantino also loves in particular. If for you a movie can't just be entertaining and well-crafted, and things need to make perfect sense and be realistic, this is obviously not a movie you should see..

Well, I am all for difference in opionions. Each person has the right to think for himself, and if you think that KB is trash, its your opinion. But many people here might think otherwise, and have faith in this project. Anyway, we have 2 more weeks till we can see for ourself, and in your case read the impressions and decide if you believe in those or not.

KB trailers are fine. They show exactly what movie going to be - a revenge story with some outrageous scenes. And lets not start in listing the lists of supposedly good and bad films, since those are personal and can be very subjective. You can see this in perfect example of my and diffusionx disagreement on EQ.

Well, Maybe you dont, and I am fine with that.

So, Now only Asian or Real Martial Artist allowed in the films that use any martial arts? Cause otherwise its not real? I could never understood this point of view. With enough training, good choreographer and direction, action might be great even without use of certified martial artists.

I think having low or no expectation will be the best choice for you, if you decide to see this. I wont be hyping it myself either, since I got burned by MR by doing just that.
