Awesome movie. Fantastic parody of Geroge Romero's Living Dead movies. The sequels weren't nearly as good, however.
Just saw this one last night. It's a mid-80's era zombie movie. It an official Movie That Does Everything Right(TM). This movie has it all: Comedy, genuinely good monster designs and costumes, gore, 80's music, helpless/confused law enforcement, dogs cut in half horizontally, and near invincible (and intelligent) zombies. The movie kicks right off by having a 1980's style punk chick decide she doesn't want to wear her clothes anymore, so she removes them. She continues on for the rest of the entire move without them. To add to the "strange" of an already strange situation, the producer made her a latex vagina-crack-filler to avoid an X-rating. Very, very odd.
So ummm... anyway, the movie is more funny than scary. In fact, that was actually intentional in this case.Zombies can talk and hold conversations, and they have some damn funny lines (wait till you hear "send more paramedics"). Of course there is the customary "Brains! Brains!" as well.
Zombies do not really follow any of the zombie rules we all know and love. I'd be ruining a few jokes if I went into detail, but lets just say that they are really, really hard to kill. They are also quite fast, and quite clever, setting up traps for anybody who would wander near.
Bottom line is this one gets the full Chibi Nappa Seal of Approval for anybody wanting some serious cheese that does not reek of "awful movie". Hmmm... cheese in a good* movie. What will they think of next?
*note: "Good" does not mean high budget with good acting.

I liked the one that takes place in the mall. Dawn of the Dead? Longest zombie movie i've ever seen but the last half or so is nuts.
Not true. Part 3 was quite a good movie. It was more serious in mood, and had some great gore moments. I think I prefer it more, than even original film.Originally Posted by Dolemite
Yeah this was a solid one(And I hate punk too). Because of the nonsense after Night of the Living Dead was released, the guy who made this one got to keep the Living Dead name while Romero was stuck with just Dead. Oddball indeed.
It's too bad the sequels sunk the series into oblivion(Part 2 was the definition of rehash) though I was happy to see Capcom give a nod to this series with the ending to Resident Evil 3.
the part I liked was when a zombie breaks into the house and one of the guys pulls a home-run on his head with a baseball bat.
"Your soul better belong to Jesus, mmm-mmmmm..... cause your ass belongs to me!"
I still think this is one of the best movies ever made, and making the 3rd serious by making that girl a half zombie was the stupidest shit ever....
3 was okay. The part in the lab at the end with the homeless zombie dude in the power armor thing was pretty stupid, though...Originally Posted by Despair
