Yes, thank fucking god schumacher has nothing to do with this movie.

As for Bale not looking right, I can see where you're coming from. In the comics and cartoon Bruce Wayne has always been portrayed as somewhat square-jawed. Bale, in contrast, has a somewhat narrow, gaunt face. However, Bale is a great actor, and he's proven that he can excel at physical roles. He's bulked up over the past few years and I assume that he'll bulk up even further for the Batman movies. I'm sure he'll be great, probably the best Batman to date.

  2. Bale did pretty well in Reign of Fire, and he was awesome in Empire of the Sun (oh wait, that might be a little TOO far back into his resume, being like, 8 and all when he did it). I hope he does pretty good. And from what I understand, the first one is going to be Birth of Batman basically. Or Batman year one, type of thing.

  3. Awesome choices. With Bale, Nolan, and Goyer working together, this may well be the first Batman flick I see since Tim Burton's original.

Dolemite, go rent Memento and Insomnia asap.

I thought that too. I'm pretty happy he was casted since he was the best in the running from what I saw. Good thing he ain't doin no Bond.

    Same here.

Nolan's a decent director (I didnt dig either of his films all that much but they were okay), so we will see what happens, but I gotta say Im not a big fan of Bale.

The word I've heard from AICN (yeah, like that's official) is that it's actually probably going to be Ra's al Ghul. Scarecrow would be interesting as well, but I'm personally rooting for Ra's, myself.

Say what you want about EQ, but Bale was great in it. He acted vert well in both action/physical and dramatic scenes, and will do great as Batman.

What, he was up for Bond? If so, thank god he didn't do it. What a waste of his talent that would be.

Well, I read your post in the EQ thread, and all your problems with that movie seemed to stem from the storyline and the direction, not from Bale's performance. What's your beef with the Balester?

Actually, upon further thought, you're right. I didnt have much of a problem with Bale - he was decent. Im not quite convinced he will make a good Batman, but hey, like someone else said, he's gonna be better than Clooney.

  10. Actually, Batman is an English Psycho, as you can clearly see from this pre-production picture.
