Why does it matter where a company starts out anyways? If General Motors started making kick ass video games, it would stupid not to buy them.
Personally I could careless if MS bought Nintendo out right. It would be one less system I'd have to buy.
If you think a FPS can capture the same experience as a classic 2D game then your deluding yourself. In fact the true sequel Metriod 3 is being made for the GBA by the original Metriod team.First of all, metroid prime won't be an FPS. was super metroid a shooter? no. it was an action/adventure game. Metroid prime will be the same, just in a 1st person perspective.
Wrong, Nintendo was in the trading card bussiness, so its the same theory for Nintendo as well.Look, Microsoft and Sony where not originally software developers. They were only electronic hardware developers before they got into the video game business. Remember Walkmans, and Windows 3.0?
When they got in they hired a buntch of guys to be their new development teams. Those guys where not originally with Sony and MS.
While Nintendo started as a video game developer with Donkey Kong and Mario, then got into hardware developing. They are the only true video game developer who got into the hardware business along with Sega.

i guess you mean Metroid 4... because Metroid 3 was Super Metroid on snes..
Exactly. This was my point.
So MS tried to buy Nintendo. Nintendo turned it down - no big deal.
I understand they tired to buy Sega - it didn't happen, once agian - no big deal.
Over the course of the years I've seen countless studios purchaced by Nintendo, Sega, Sony and MS. They all did it. No one was complaing about Sega aquireing Red or when Sony bought Psygnosis.

supermario, you aren't forced to buy the shit, just ignore it. I don't see how a market crash would stimulate 2D gaming either, can you explain that one?
Its screwy fanboy logic NeoZedd, that justifies everything. ITO
Correct Metriod 4, my mistake.i guess you mean Metroid 4... because Metroid 3 was Super Metroid on snes..
Did I mention any of these games sucking?....no I did not.Originally posted by NeoZeedeater
It's too bad some people can't appreciate 3d games.
Jet Grind Radio, Zelda: OT, Grand Theft Auto 3, Deus Ex, Shenmue, Unreal Tournament, Panzer Dragoon, Virtua Fighter, Super Mario 64, F-Zero X, Sin & Punishment, NiGHTS, etc.
Man, the polygon era sure sucks doesn't it?

Windows is not a game, and I would hardly call the "games" MS made in the 80's for computers games. I dont think you got into video games from playing a flight simulator.Originally posted by Brotherman

Isn't Window's Software? And what about Flight Simulator that has been around since the NES days. It was the first game I got with my PC and it was running DOS at the time. No Windows (windows was around then though).
Funny how I see sooooo many 2-D games nowadays. So much balance here, right? And most of us want 3D games to be around. They are fun too. We want balance that's all. We don't want one to be abandoned for the other.

Wow, big freaking deal, but the fact that they FIRST made games THEN developed hardware still is true.Originally posted by TracerBullet
Nintendo originally made playing cards in the 19th century.
Sega made slots and Jukeboxes or somesuch back in the late 50's.
MS ALWAYS made software since 1981.
Sony, can and has made whatever they want.

Same with SEGA.
See my above post for my opinons on MS "games".
Your post on Sony doesnt prove that they origianally made games.

Yea, it does matter because then the company would just be doing it to make money....aka Sony, MS.Originally posted by NeoZeedeater

Nintendo started making games when they made no money, had no chance of becomeing mainstream, and had the Atari crash in their face telling them to go home.
The fact is that Nintendo makes games out of love for making games, money was never in the main light because in 1982 it didnt look like you could make money off of a video game.
