Ack, well, the tide has turned against me here, and after reading more, perhaps it was a fight that could have gone either way. Mosley dominated the latter rounds and had Oscar on his heels, but De La Hoya landed almost 2X as many punches. I guess its where you place the quantity versus quality of punches.
I'm just one of those guys who's become really jaded over boxing as a whole. I was a fan of Tyson as a kid and watched him degenerate from the most promising heavyweight since Ali to a woman-raping quasi-cannibal and a shell of his former self. That fight between Vitali Klitschko and Lennox Lewis a few months ago was also a sham and further hammered the point home, after that beating Lewis should vacate the belt on general principle.
I was also one of those unfortunate souls who watched Holyfield/Tyson II live when "Mad Mike Mad a Manwich of Evander's Earlobe". That was pretty much the beginning of the end for me
Speaking of Tyson - Have you guys heard anything about him going to sign a contract to fight in K-1?
I heard about this from a friend as well. I guess Iron Mike was in the audience near the ring at a match, and one of the competitors (Sapp?), started to trash talk him and call him out to fight.Supposedely, Tyson got in the ring and was going to fight the guy before his entourage pulled him away. Is this BS or true?
