After looking at the IGN review, I can tell right off the bat that there are some factual errors in it just by info I've gotten in this thread.
I dunno bout space, but I can probably rip the stuff we need. I'll talk to you tommorow about it.Originally Posted by Korly

This is the only question that Korly didn't answer, so I'll field it. Laying on the mat after you've been kicked off presents no problems. The problem with pins is that in one-player, you have to jam the button to get up or oftentimes the computer will just keep trying to pin you over and over. Because you have to pump the button to kick the opponent off and then you have to keep pumping it to stand up, a series of normal pins can be pretty annoying, besides the fact that it's not realistic.Originally Posted by Nigel-The-Landstalker
Obviously, this game was made by people who watched a few tapes but have no real sense of the characters and action that make people watch wrestling. It is a very flat game that relies on the player's creativity to lift it up. It's worth a purchase if you have a spare fifty laying around after buying WMXIX, but it's not a good idea to have this as your only next-gen wrestling game. It screams "60% done," but at the same time it can be pretty enjoyable. Season mode is technically not good, but it throws a twist in here and there and it supports multiplayer, so I can't totally trash it. Just remember that there is no dialogue, spoken or written, to carry the story, and don't expect any epic battles backstage. The backstage battles practically don't exist - it's just a contest to see who can put on a front grapple first after ten seconds of softening up.
Its quite a leap though Nick, as the last Raw just screamed 30% done.
Honestly I can see having a ton of fun just making your character's and intro's, but this no text during story mode thing (really, really, sad) and the fact that these games have been literally sitting on the best incarnation they ever could have done (with a combination of these options, and the Revenge/Wrestlemania/No Mercy engine) is just really really sad. Thq really screwed this up by not making just one game for all platforms.
I feared saying this back when I saw the first screens but still had some hope, but it looks like we'll just have to wait till next year for a complete version. Hopefully this announcement of doing the same game for the Gamecube and Xbox and keeping Smackdown for the PS2 will be a blessing.

If my memory of her has an expiration date, let it be 10,000 years.
I got this game yesterday and put in a good 7 or 8 (maybe 9, I dunno) hours into it with my friends doing 3 player Season mode. We all had a lot of fun. Sure the game could be deeper, but the season is a lot of fun, and it's still simple enough to play so anyone can just join in and play. I still will be getting Smackdown 5, but for now I can sell my SD4 and Def Jam and not think twice. I have a few nitpicks though, like why do they have people waiting outside the ring in Royal Rumble? That makes it so only 4 people are in the ring at once, which is a shame because that's a throwback to 32-bit wrestling (I still miss the hecktic 9 people from RR on DC). I miss it not being 6 player like SD, but that's because of the controller port issue. Also, why does the CPU take control of you after a short time when you interfere? OH well, there are other things, but I'll post about them later, it's time to run to the comic book store!![]()

I found some edited themes here:

The only one I downloaded so far was EVolution, and it's not perfect quality. BUt, it sounds OK I guess.
Now, does anyone know the proper way to reverse grapples? I know the B button reverses strikes, but I'm not really clear on how to reverse grapples.
EDIT:
This page has a good Matt Hardy edit:

I've reversed just by mashing buttons really fast. If you have more spirit, you should reverse.

Great...
By The Way...
Crash and Shannon Moor both have really sweet entrance videos, and the best part of them is the intro, but in their default intros, instead of watching the titantron at the beginning, you look at the crowd! So, I changed their entrance moves to Matt Hardy, which is pretty close for Shannon, but for Crash, he loses the whole walking with purpose thing. But, whatever.
Also, anyone noticed Brock has no pyro? I'm gonna see if you can add it in.
Does Crash have the Styles Clash as his finisher?
