Thread: Castlevania: Lament of Innocence

I would just like to know exactly how you would expect a 3D Castlevania to play with out resembling other action/adventure 3D games such as Rygar and Devil May Cry even just a little... cause frankly I can't, there is only so much difference in a 3D action/adventure title can be done... it's not like there was a huge difference between 2D action/adventure titles ether

    I'm just hoping it's a good game *prays*

  2. An 8.0 is good enough for me. I hope to enjoy this game and TMNT this week... If they're not good I may have to hurt someone at Konami.

    Remove the combo system, make the basic enemies one- or two-hit kills, add in more enemies per room (or a streaming enemy system), and add in more platforming elements.

    So a really basic attack system and lots weak enemies that appear out of nowhere and attack you from you're blind side causing you to fall down while in a hard platforming area in turn pissing the player off because now they have to do it over is you're idea on how to make it better...

    Great. I really liked DMC and Rygar, but they both had problems. Maybe this game will be the perfect middle ground.

    Man, If I had money I would have had it Wednesday for sure, but I have to wait till my HV gets it on Friday, and hope I can score me a copy to rent.

    This month PSM gave it 9.0. In the review they gushed about the fun gameplay, graphics, music but complained about lack of innovation.

    When was the last time Castlevania was innovative? Castlevania II maybe? It was the same formula for years and years... then when they changed the formula it was just a Metroid ripoff and then they played that out like no other... I love my Castlevania, but I don't think any of the games have been innovative in many a year.
