Thread: Favorite vampire & werewolf flicks

  1. I really liked the original Dracula.

The Silent black and white one. It was just a really well made movie.

    yum yum yum ...
    Delicioso

  2. An American Werewolf in London is by far the best werewolf movie I've seen. As for vampires, I'm having trouble thinking of movies, but From Dusk Til Dawn is a really fun movie, and then of course there's both versions of Nosferatu

Oh, does Brotherhood of the Wolf count?

Nah - I dont think so ... If you saw the whole movie you'd know the answer to that question

Another good werewolf flick from back in the day was Silver Bullet.

and when did that Ginger Snaps movie come out? this is the first Ive heard of it.

  4. Blade
    Blade 2
    An American Werewolf in London
    Interview With The Vampire
    Monster Squad

  5. Yeah I've seen a few, some really poor ones too

I liked "Dog Soldiers", "Ginger Snaps" was different but good, "American Werewolf in London", and "Wolfen" was great but I'm not sure if that is considered a werewolf film

There are supposed to be quite a few werewolf films in the works too, I'm hoping "Bitten" turns out good since I think that should be a good werewolf movie

As for Vampire films "Blade" and "Vampire Hunter D" are two of my favorites

I never saw "In The Company of Wolves"... does anyone know if that was any good?

Here is a list of upcoming werewolf films, I think there are a few more that escape me right now
    • Bitten
    • Blood & Chocolate
    • Cursed
    • Dog Soldiers (sequel)
    • Ginger Snaps (sequels?)
    • Howl
    • Howling Mad
    • The Curse
    • Van Helsing
    • Wolves of Wall Street

  6. Well, I kinda liked Wolfen, but am not sure if I can call it a werewolf movie. Great head snapping scene it had though

Company of Wolves is definately strange movie. Its more of dark fair tale then a straight horror film, but I liked the style, and it has some pretty cool sfx.

Now, just watched Underwold, and while I am dissapointed, it was still not an awful flick, mere an ok one. But werewolves kicked ass, some of the best cgi enhanced werewolf fx ever.

  7. I'm a fan of Lost Boys too. Blade 1 and 2 are a favorite too.

Ginger Snaps turned out to be a surpise. When it first came out (direct to video) I heard it was awful, but apparently it caught a following and has made some money. I think they're doing part 3 now.

  8. The Last Man on Earth.

Omega Man is good, though I suppose they technically aren't vampires and such.

  9. Ginger Snaps rocks. It got a theatrical release here in Canada, and the special edition DVD released here absolutely rules over the Artisan release in the U.S. Tons of deleted scenes, commentaries, and other goodies, and it's in the proper aspect ratio. Snag it now, damn you.

  10. i was always quite partial to vampire hunter - the manga incarnation of the genre - its something refreshingly different.
