Norton Personal Firewall. Blocks any pop ups whether its from IE or from the stupid dreaded gray windows pop-ups

No need to go that extreme. The program is pretty much garbage.

Install a hardware router/firewall instead, block Windows communication ports (135-139) and use AVG for antivirus and Spybot/Ad Aware to clean up Adgarbage. You should be fine with that.

It works for me and blocked the worm/blaster virus..so i dont think its garbage to me.

Of course, the ultimate solution is just to be careful about what you install on your machine.

The most intrusive program I run is RealONE Player, but I turned off most of its irritating options.

Viruses aren't REALLY eating your computer. I really dislike it when somebody posts really or literally in their topic and then I open it and it's just not.

Call me back when you have a cold and it becomes embodied in to a huge ugly monster and then starts to eat your computer slowly. Slow enough that you have enough time to write out a thread and post it, and then maybe reply once more.
